Carpe Diem

I feel a storm rising within my heart,
Fearing the day when no one will listen
To the childhood laughter within our souls —
Too afraid to try, afraid someone may get hurt.

I fear we no longer take the time to sit and experience
The alluring world that so few try to understand —
Filled with shapes of such fascination and beauty,
Like the passionate fire that burns within a lover’s eyes.

Where has time gone, when we finally realize
All our regrets, all our lost opportunities?
Possibilities of laughter, life, and love —
Forever lost, forever unfulfilled.

The time has come to forget the worries and fears
And not to doubt the future that lies ahead,
But to listen to your soul and seize the moment —
The laughter, the life, and the love —
That longs for you today.
